Treatment of Panic Disorder |

 Gary Johnston
Gary commenced the lecture with his personal initial experience with a trauma which occurred in Venezuela some years ago and reoccurred during following years in the form of PTSD ( which at the time, was not diagnosed as such ).
Gary’s presentation focussed on:
* Progression of Anxiety Disorders
* Common Basic Triggers &
* Anxiety Triggers (emotional & physical causes).
followed by an overview of:
* Panic Attack Symptoms &
* Panic Attack Triggers
Gary went on to explain that unfortunately none of the common treatment models listed below appear to be very effective in chronic cases:
* Detailed history taking/ psychometric tests
* Analysis
* Re-exposure / desensitization
* Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) or other.
* Pharmacological intervention.
and he highlighted that a widespread and continuing increase in stress of all kinds in today’s society are likely to result in increased numbers of sufferers of anxiety disorders and PTSD, many of whom may be un- or misdiagnosed and/or who may not be helped by any of the “standard” treatment modalities
Gary’s research in this area has led him to develop a treatment methodology which optimises the use of suggestion and other hypnotic strategies with a strong emphasis on educating the Unconscious Mind and a clear focus on client empowerment through genuine rapport and utilising the client’s history as part of the treatment.
The knowledge gained at this seminar was profound and really brought to light the effectiveness and importance of the work that we do with our clients in clinical hypnotherapy.
I found the information invaluable and was taken aback by the warmth, generosity and passion that was expressed by Gary in his presentation.
I urge anyone who has not experienced a Gary Johnston seminar to do so soon. |
