NATIONAL There are no national standards regarding police checks and clearances. Each State and Territory have their own procedures. It is necessary to fulfil the requirements in each State or Territory in which you are working. Currently there are no legal requirements for people working with children to undertake a police check in the Australian Capital Territory, however, organisations which require employees and/or volunteers to work with children may have their own policies in this regard. - NEW SOUTH WALES
- The Working With Children background check involves checking the relevant records of people who are being recruited to child-related employment to consider whether they indicate any risk to children.
