Jenny and Leigh Skewes At the CCH General Meeting on February 10th, 2008 attendees were privy to a foretaste of an intensive weekend workshop to be held at the end of May to provide training in a technique called “Be Set Free Fast” (BSFF).Pioneered by Larry Nims PhD and then further developed by presenters and trainers Jenny and Leigh Skewes, BSFF embraces aspects of EFT, kinesiology and traditional hypnosis which have been refined to quickly access and dissolve “excess emotions” and attached beliefs arising from trauma.
A prepared script is initially used and repeated by the client, to set up the intention to dissolve the issue(s) forever. This is then replaced by a shortened version which involves a combination of a cue word (representing emotion), visualizing a tapping sequence (accessing meridians) and breath work (releasing the negative and inviting the positive). The process: - Client and therapist explore issues to be addressed including non-specific, vague or “bundled” problems. Note the client doesn’t necessarily need to know what the problem is. The premise is that the sub-conscious will choose the appropriate issue(s) to target. Allow the client to assign a SUDS number to the problem which represents the degree of impact the trauma/emotion is having on them – the objective being to reduce the number to “nil forever” to sustain healing.
- Instruct the client to commence with the cue word/intent, visualization and breath work (assisting where necessary) followed by counting down the SUDS number to ultimately achieve a “nil forever” to remove the excess emotion attached to the trauma.
- This method appears to be quick, profound and lasting as forgiveness and release are incorporated into the script and breath work as a necessary part of the healing process. Also you can suggest visualizing replacing the removed negative energy with positive energy.
- If addressing several problems at once you may find the client has achieved a “nil forever” result on some, however has a residual unease around other remaining or outstanding issues. At this point it may be appropriate to “bundle” any outstanding issues and do a SUDS countdown on the collective.
- Finally, you can employ the principles of kinesiology to test the validity and completion of the healing process.
