2008 Hypnotherapy & Counselling Expo

Sponsored by the Council of Clinical Hypnotherapists

The year 2008 will be a very exciting one for the profession of Hypnotherapy with the first ever National Hypnotherapy and Counselling Expo to be held in Melbourne on the 10th, 11th and 12th of October at The University of Melbourne.

This promises to be the most talked about forum for creating awareness and changing perception of the Hypnotherapy profession to have ever taken place in Australia, providing a wonderful opportunity for professionals to promote their businesses as well as have a positive influence in their chosen field of expertise.

The event organisers of the Expo Janine Mahoney and Robyn Whiting of Hypnosis Central are thrilled about the major sponsorship involvement of the CCH and the opportunity to work together with the Executive Committee for the greater enhancement of the profession of Hypnotherapy.

The Expo will be comprised of a main exhibition area where 50 exhibitors from the professions of Hypnotherapy, Counselling and allied businesses will be available for consultation over the 3 day period. In conjunction with the exhibition area there will be a comprehensive and diverse seminar and workshop program that will be comprised of 8 various 3 hour workshops and 21 hour long seminars, the range of topics presented will have wide appeal for both professionals as well as the general public.

The University of Melbourne will offer a wonderful setting for engaging in face to face contact with a captive audience who is seeking information and possible solutions to both a therapeutic and educative need.
Attendees will be able to access a broad spectrum of therapists from many modalities and associated fields as exhibitors will be made up of a diverse selection of therapists, leading organisations and associations. A presence of universities, colleges, volunteer and charity groups, mental health clinics, publications and journals as well as many allied and related professionals are expected to provide an interesting mixture of knowledge for attendees to draw from.

It is so thrilling that change is in our midst, the expo will be an opportunity for the profession of Hypnotherapy to create a platform for a resounding voice that will be heard from like minded professionals who all have the same objective; to create awareness and to change the public of perception about Hypnosis. By creating an educative forum that highlights the therapeutic benefits of this modality it creates a mechanism of transformation which holds the ultimate goal of drawing a greater number of people to engage in hypnotherapy as an informed choice to seeking wellness and change.  The involvement of the CCH and its Executive committee will be paramount to the success as it brings with it many years of collective experience and knowledge amongst its members.

The main focus of the Expo is to build awareness and create exposure about the advantages of Hypnotherapy and Counselling within the general public. Furthermore, the Expo will act as a medium for students, prospective students and professionals working within the Hypnotherapy and Counselling field, to seek information, network and inspire each other in the aim of enhancing these significant professions.

The Expo will run in conjunction with “National Hypnotherapy Awareness Week” which is from October 6th to 12th 2008. A range of activities will be held during this week as a lead up to the Expo.
