 Rick Collingwood Rick Collingwood is the Founder of Mind Motivations. He is a hypnotherapist, hypnosis trainer, lecturer and public speaker whose qualifications include: Dip Hypnosis, Dip Adv Hypnosis, Dip 1-2 Counselling, Dip Mental Health, B.A. Counselling, Ph.D. Philosophy USA and Cert IV Training & Assessment. Rick practices and teaches hypnosis at Mind Motivations & The Australian Academy of Hypnosis clinics in Brisbane, Queensland, and Perth, Western Australia.
Since 1995 he has personally assisted countless thousands of people using his own unique therapeutic hypnosis techniques and skills. Rick’s client list includes sales motivators, commercial airline pilots, psychologists, medical professionals, business people, home makers and children. People from all walks of life, facing challenges such as stress disorders, nicotine and drug dependency, gambling, addiction, pain management, depression, panic disorder, insomnia, motivation, chronic fatigue syndrome, and many other various behavioral challenges have benefitted from his professional help. He has also conducted group hypnosis sessions with attendances of up to almost 700 people. Rick earned his doctorate in Social and Historical Philosophy from Trinity College and University in the USA, and has accredited training in counseling and mental health issues. His extensive knowledge of many aspects and styles of hypnosis, combined with his many years of practical experience ensures the effectiveness of his hypnosis and sub-conscious counseling skills. He has appeared as an invited guest on national radio and national television, including twice on Channel 9s "A Current Affair", Channel 7s "Today Tonight" Optus Vision, Bris 31, and his Life Improvement Series personal Hypnotherapy CDs recently featured on Good Morning America. In 2006 Rick's “Lose Weight Now!” hypnosis CD earned him a gold record with annual sales of more than 45,000 units. This is believed to be the first Gold Record ever achieved by a hypnosis CD. Between January 2002 and March 2006 The Life Improvement Series CDs have now sold more than 250,000 copies all over the world.
In 2005, in conjunction with a Pharmacist colleague, Mr Nathan Elliott, Rick Conducted Australia's first, monitored, clinical study to evaluate improvements in the quality of life using hypnosis as an adjunct to conventional medical treatments with nine people all afflicted with various cancers at various stages. Both the Clinical and the Experiential results were very positive and ethics approval is being sought to conduct a much larger study (it should be noted that all study participants were signed into the trial and monitored independently by their Medical Doctors).
Rick is acknowledged as one of the most skilled professional hypnotherapists and hypnosis trainers in Australia. He is the principal of The Australian Academy of Hypnosis and has trained more than 350 therapists in the correct and effective use of his unique therapeutic hypnosis styles.
