Unlike other professional associations, CCH is a representative "Council" whose membership comprises relevant professional associations and training organisations as well as individual practitioners, all of whom have had to demonstrate that they meet suitable criteria for CCH membership. One of the criteria for successful application to join the CCH practitioner register is current membership of an approved professional association. This means that CCH registered practitioners have not only met the requirements of their professional association but have also undergone an addtional verification process to join the CCH practitioner register. All Full Practising Members of the CCH need to meet the following criteria: - Evidence of current membership of an approved professional clinical hypnotherapy organisation
- Fulfillment of CCH Minimum Standards of Training & Education for Clinical Hypnotherapy
- Adherence to the CCH Code of Ethics
- First Aid Level 2 Certification
- State Police Check
- Professional Indemnity Insurance
- Completion of CCH prescribed minimum level of Supervision and Mentoring each year
- Completion of CCH prescribed minimum level of Continuing Professional Education each year
The CCH is not aligned to a single organisation, training institution or profession. The CCH does not believe that all knowledge comes from a single school or a single profession. The CCH is not made up of health professionals who have only a rudimentary knowledge of hypnotherapy, having 'done a weekend course' - to gain full practising membership of the CCH requires thorough training and supervised practice.
While many of our members may include different modalities to assist in bringing about a positive change for their clients, the majority of CCH members assist their clients primarily through the use of clinical hypnotherapy.
